Times of India - India Times Kanam Movie review
Times of India - India Times

Verdict : If only the director had thought of inserting some suspense in the proceedings, and made it clear where the film stands on the pro-choice and pro-life debate and avoided the attempt to guilt-trip people right at the end, this one would've been something more.

Krishna (Naga Shaurya) and Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) are the quintessential modern-day couple – falling in love when they were in their teens and marrying five years later after they graduate and settle down in their jobs. However, while Tulasi struggles at putting an incident in the past behind her, their marriage seems to be weighed down by a third wheel, an unseen entity.

123 Telugu Kanam Movie review

Verdict : Kanam is an emotional thriller which does not thrill you to a great extent or disappoints you completely. Interesting thrills during the first half and crisp runtime are major assets. But the film falters during the later part as major emotions are not dealt well. As the film runs on Sai Pallavi’s star power, her role is just about okay. All those who are tired of the routine commercial flicks and want to watch an emotional thriller, they can try out this film which ends up as a one time watch this weekend.

Sai Pallavi and Naga Shourya are a couple who abort their child as they are very young in age and also yet to tie the knot. After being separated for five years, they finally tie the knot. But Sai Pallavi does not forget the trauma she went through and always remembers the fact she would have had a five-year-old daughter by now if she did not get her abortion done.

Chitramala Kanam Movie review
Chitramala

Verdict : The film Kanam discusses the issue of abortion, and the movie is dedicated to all those unborn lives. The film appears good and decent in the first half but the second half of the movie is entirely a letdown. The director has introduced the main point of the movie in the first half itself, but he has failed in efficiently executing the same in the second half. A lot of ups and downs in the second half of the movie brings a negative feel for the audiences. The hurried ending of the film is also a drawback. The central theme of the movie is good, but the cooked up factors around the same are not up to the mark. Except for the performance of Sai Pallavi, the film offers nothing else to appreciate about.

Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) gets aborted when she is 19. After five years, she marries her longtime boyfriend Krishna (Naga Shourya). When they are leading a happy life, the sudden deaths in their family starts giving them worries. What happens then and what is the reason for the same forms the story of the film.

IndiaGlitz Kanam Movie review

Verdict : The very idea of a revenge story with a child at its centre is exciting. 'Kanam', however, suffers from avoidable flaws. Director Vijay is light-touch the way he was in 'Abhinetri' ('Devi'). Sai Pallavi's performance is fabulous.

Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) and Krishna ( Naga Shourya) are school sweethearts who have premarital sex and when it is found out, the girl's mother (Rekha) and boy's father (Nizhalgal Ravi) force the youngsters to go for abortion.

Apherald Kanam Movie review

Verdict : Sai Pallavi's fine debut that's sure to leave an impact.

Diya begins with the couple in love Naga Shourya and Sai Pallavi in a hospital, where she undergoes an abortion. The film then moves forward by 5 years, and now the couple is married, but Sai Pallavi is still haunted by memories of the abortion and the child.

Teluguodu Kanam Movie review

Verdict : Kanam, halfhearted attempt at a novel concept

Krishna (Naga Shourya) and Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) fall in love. Tulasi gets pregnant at the young age of 19 and hence the pair decides abort the child. They get married after 5 years with the consent of their families. The aborted baby comes to life as an evil spirit and takes revenge on all those who murdered her.

Telugu Cinema Kanam Movie review
Telugu Cinema

Verdict : Though 'Kanam' deals with a point that is fairly novel in Indian cinema, it suffers from lack of rousing elements and gripping sequences. It is plain thriller cum message oriented movie with hardly any engaging moments.

Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) is a doctor and her husband is civil engineer Krishna (Naga Shaurya). The young couple move into an apartment after their wedding. Before their wedding, they were in a love relationship and Tulasi had an abortion and this caused huge emotional burden on her.

Tollywood Net Kanam Movie review

Verdict : Overall Kanam is good and watchable movie because it shines the spotlight on a sensitive topic- Abortion. The director deserves applause for his attempt to engage the viewers with something important but different issue. The plus points of the film are Sai Pallavi, unique plot , screenplay, and music. On the flipside, there is nothing exciting in second half. The movie carries good social message.

Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) and Krishna (Naga Shaurya) are leading a happy life but very soon the sudden deaths in their family starts. Tulasi realizes that there is something- her aborted baby (Baby Veronika), who is responsible for the deaths and her next target is her own father. What happens next, form the rest of the story.
